The Stipendium Hungaricum Programme

An agreement has been signed between the governments of South Africa and Hungary, offering 100 scholarships per year between 2017 and 2019, to South African students for study at participating public university in Hungary.

Scholarships are offered for over 130 courses, (including, but not limited to:
Natural sciences and sustainable environment
Engineering and information technology
Agricultural science and food science
Biotechnology, bioenergetics and renewable energy
Economics, business and management studies
Physical education and coaching
Adult education
Human resources development
International relations and European studies etc.)
The Stipendium Hungaricum programme offers South African students' studies at Bachelors, Masters or PhD level as follows: 30 Bachelors, 60 Masters and 10 PhD places are available.

In Hungary, the academic year runs from September to June thus the applications for the 2018/2019 intake for the Scholarship are now closed and will reopen towards the end of 2018. Applications are all done online.
